Off to the next adventure!

Hearing a friend talk about going back to "visit" her kids as babies made me think about my own perspective and how each path I've taken has shaped where I am now and how I view those past decisions. Would you go back and change any decisions or paths you took? Or just let the education play out?

It took one sentence to shake my gratitude awake recently. It made me realize that it's not just about feeling grateful, but also how we express and create gratitude that builds a powerful pipeline of growth and kindness.

It took reaching a breaking point in the corporate world for me to listen to the side of me that was always meant to lead the way: Emily the Writer. By letting her have a voice, all the other sides of me can now vibe together. Which side of you is being put in the corner so that you can be the things society wants you to be?

As I venture into the world of freelance writing, I feel exposed. And just like I need to start easing my face out from behind my mask—the safety net for weird things my face now does—I know I need to start easing away from the safety of the consistent paycheck, benefits, and built-in sense of value.
